NORTHEAST INTERNATIONAL INVITATIONAL YO-YO MEET
Will be held on June 26th at the St Albans Armory,
in St.Albans Vermont, Starting AT 9AM
Loacal area merchants and some other organizations that will be recognized on a sponsor
list at a later date are sponsoring this competition, this competition is being held for
the betterment of the yo-yo. Also this competition is open to any one that wishes to
enter. We expect every one to act like a true sportsman at this meet. There will be
trophies for all divisions.
RULES
1. If more than 5 inches of string remain outside the yo-yo, is a miss.
2. When on stage the following throws are ONLY allowed; Gravity Pull, Forward Pass, and
Loop or string adjustments.
3. There will be a trick box; ANY throw inside the trick box will count as an attempt.
4. A contestant must use the same yo-yo for all tricks. A yo-yo change is permitted for
the two-handed elements.
5. Each Compulsory trick is worth 5 points if completed on the first try; second try
receives 3 points.
6. The FREESTYLE element is a mandatory part in the Pro/Am division. It will be scored as
followed For each trick a point will be given, the more difficult the trick the more
points awarded, any creative or different tricks will be given a point, picture tricks
will only be given half a point. Transitions or regeneration’s are award half a point
as well, however the more difficult of the transition could be awarded a full point. For
each rewind one point will be deducted, loss of control in the yo-yo will result in half a
point deduction. For two-handed tricks you must complete a min. of three repetitions in
order to receive the point or points. Showmanship … 10 points maximum. Music is of
own choosing; a CD AND CASSETTE PLAYER will be available.
NOVICE DIVISION
Age divisions (10 years and under), (11 ¡ 15 years), (16 and over). There will be a
qualifying trick of the Sleeper, three attempts will be allowed.
1. Gravity pull
2. Forward pass
3. Spinner ( minimum of 3 seconds)
4. Breakaway ( must swing up to opposite shoulder)
5. Walk the Dog (minimum of 3 tics or 6 inches)
6. Rock the baby ( 1 full swing)
7. Around the world
TIEBREAKER: LOOP
INTERMEDIATE DIVISION
(15 and under), (16 and up)
1. Walk the Dog ( 2 feet)
2. Creeper ( must have complete contact with ground on way back)
3. Around the Corner (must go over back of arm)
4. Elevator ( must start near hand go all the way to the top)
5. Rock the Baby ( 3 full swings)
6. Flying Saucer ( must pick up the string)
7. Hop the Fence (5 reps)
8. Three Leaf Clover ( last loop must go straight down, 90 degree angle)
9. Loop the Loop ( 5 reps)
10. Man on the Trapeze ( no flipovers)
TIE BREAKER:
1. Double or Nothing
2. Braintwister (2 somersaults)
3. Loop the Loop ( 10 reps)
MASTER DIVISION
No age divisions
1. Creeper ( must walk out and back)
2. Pinwheel ( side or top 3 rotations)
3. Brain Twister ( 2 somersaults)
4. Hop the Fence ( 10 reps)
5. Three Leaf Clover ( last loop straight down)
6. Reach for the Moon ( 5 reps)
7. Trapeze ( 2 somersaults no flipovers)
8. Double or Nothing (no flipovers)
9. Warp Drive ( 3 regenerated around the worlds)
10. Loop the Loop ( 20 inside loops)
11. Split the Atom ( split bottom entry/ 2 pass unders left & right, 1 somersault)
12. Trapeze Baby ( 2 full rocks)
13. Time Warp ( forward world/ hop, backward world)
14. Triple or Nothing ( no flipovers)
15. Home Run ( must come up ending with loop)
